Professor Chris Halliburton has expertise
in people development and management development,
with a strong international focus. He has
spent his career in consultancy and management education committed
to the development of talented people. He is Professor of
International Management and Marketing and the former UK Director
of ESCP-EAP, European School of Management.
As a practitioner - Chris has over twenty
five years’ experience of strategy and marketing consultancy
in numerous consumer and industrial markets working mainly
in the UK and Europe as well as the Americas, Asia and Africa.
He has helped clients formulate and implement market-focused
strategies and has worked extensively on market analysis,
client requirements, branding and marketing communications.
His work in the field of management and people development
is therefore rooted in an in-depth experience of real client
needs and the realities of the marketplace.
He has comprehensive experience in designing and leading
management development programmes of all types, from customised
in-company work to Masters and executive MBA programmes. He
is also committed to the personal development of individuals
and the encouragement of talent, working extensively on a
one-to-one basis. He has delivered and designed customised
executive programmes for a number of global clients.
One key outcome of his contribution is in encouraging clients
to identify required outcomes, prioritise their activities,
develop their talents and deliver value.
As an adviser to PricewaterhouseCoopers for a number of years,
he played an important internal development role with the
consultancy staff, as well as working on numerous international
client assignments.
As an academic - Chris has worked with excellent
organisations, including the London Business School, City
University (Cass), and ESCP-EAP, European School of Management.
At ESCP-EAP he has held a number of international roles in
the School's centres in Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Turin and London
and from 1994 to 2004 was the UK Director of the School's
centre in the UK.
With research interests specialising in European management
and marketing and in global and pan-European branding, he
is the author of numerous publications on international marketing
and management.
Career Path
Over twenty five years consulting in the
fields of strategy and marketing including adviser to Pricewaterhouse
Coopers’ Strategy and Marketing Group. This work involved
many leading international organisations as well as work for
government.
Considerable management education experience
in an international context.
This has included the design and delivery of management programmes
and the coaching and tutoring of talented individuals.
With ESCP-EAP, European School of Management this has also
included considerable management experience in international
roles of programme leadership and for 10 years as the UK Director
which involved leadership, financial and management responsibility
within the UK.
